right on red AFTERSTOP

Why do we always leave of the last part of “Right on Red”?  Between my house and my office this morning I watched 8 different cars at 4 different intersections turn right on red and not even slow down.  Even in an article on Wikipedia they mention that most people don’t get the “AFTER STOP” part…

“Right turn on red (RTOR) is a principle of law permitting vehicles at a traffic light showing a red signal to turn right (almost always after a complete stop) when the way is clear, in a country with right-hand traffic. RTOR has been practiced in the western United States for more than 50 years, with the eastern states adopting the law in the 1970s.”

ALMOST ALWAYS AFTER A COMPLETE STOP?!?!?  Really?   One of these idiots will kill or seriously injure someone one day and never believe it was their fault.

It’s a new year, a new president, a new administration.  But is it “the new boss, same as the old boss” ? ?   I guess we’ll see if he can keep up with the media hype.  I have not seen him walk on water yet, but maybe he is pacing himself! 

I guess we just have to wait and see what happens.  Didn’t like the last administration and am not expecting to like this one.  It has gotten to the point you have to be a little crazy to WANT to be President now.

It has been over a month since I had time to post anything here.  I guess I have not had any startling revelations I had to share either…

Macbook

I fought against Apple computers for years. And I mean years.  My first computer classes in 1987 were on Apple IIe and Apple IIc computers.  I avoided them, that is until recently, when they went to Intel platforms and OSX came out.  I used a few Macs that friends had and then went to work for a software company that makes software for Macs, Windows, and Linix operating systems.  Well, I finally game in…  I know have a Macbook and this is my first post to come from it.  It is a bit of a learning curve, since I was such a windows PC devotee, but I am liking it and learning more.  The more I learn, the more I like…
