[RANT] So who is the #$%#@ that invented squeaky shoes for toddlers? We had a family reunion this past Saturday and met in a small, country Masonic Lodge. One relative brought their 1-2 year old and equipped them with a dog toy squeaker in each shoe and let them run all over the building during the meeting and speeches. The reunion operates sort of like a church service with songs and speeches and prizes and stuff and during the whole thing we heard squeak, squeak, squeak… Depending on how fast the child walked it got louder and faster. They might be great for running around grandma’s house, but when you take them out in public, they drive others crazy!!! [/RANT]

LOL – I love your post! I can imagine that these could drive some people CRAZY!!! Well, I must say that I absolutely LOVE squeaky shoes. I guess that the noise level is already quite noisy having small children around, that I hardly notice the squeaking anymore…maybe it’s kinda grown on me.
HOWEVER, there is definitely a time and a place for squeaking….which is why I like the fact that the squeaker is removable and replaceable for such occasions. I Guess we owe it to the Asians…squeaky shoes been around over there for at LEAST 35 years…
I absolutely lLOVE the Squeaker shoes. I have bought them for all my grandchildren. I first saw a little girl with them on at a famous chicken sandwich store. She was having so much fun walking around making her shoes squeak. It was a jjoy watching her. It is true, there are places where the squeaking would be inappropriate. The sqeakers are removeable for that reason. Next time you are somewhere, such as a church service, politely ask the parent if she could remove the sqeaker until after the service. Oh, by the way, the squeaker was in early children’s toys way before they started putting it in dog’s toys!
HAHA!! i love them too! my daughter owns 10 pairs!!
